Electrolysis hair removal is the only method APPROVED by the FDA (Food and Drug Administration) for permanent hair removal.

Hair grows in different stages: anagen, catagen, and telegen, or growing, resting and shedding. Because all of the hair isn't in the same growth stage at any given time, multiple sessions are needed to get the hair in the growth phase for electrolysis to be most effective.

The treatment consists of sliding a hair-thin metal probe into each follicle and applying a small amount of electricity. Treatments are safe and permanent results are achieved. This procedure genetically eliminates the hair growth permanently because it eliminates the growth cells of unwanted hair. The number of electrolysis treatments may vary with each person. Many different factors such as the quantity of hair, hair growth cycles, structure of hair, and heredity determine the best result. A slight redness, white heads, and tiny scabs may occur after treatment, which disappears within a few hours. It is important to stay with the desired treatment program in order to achieve best results in the shortest time possible. No concerning pain is involved in the treatment but some sensation is felt
.
Electrolysis has the best overall results, versus any other method, in ridding the body of unwanted hair, permanently.  Many different hair and skin types can benefit. Because it doesn't target hair pigment (color) like laser, but attacks the follicle itself. People that aren't good candidates for laser can still get reap the benefits of electrolysis.

Mainstream laser unit can only be used on those with light skin and dark hair for optimum results.  It can burn those with dark skin and not give optimal results for people with light hair because the laser targets pigment (dark color). Electrolysis however, can be used on anyone despite their skin or hair color because it attacks the hair follicle itself, and not the pigment in the hair.
